I sometimes think about the idea of contentment (as living in a state of continual discontent feels so disquieting).  But I think it is that very state of slight dissatisfaction that seems to supply the creative impetus—the impetus to make change, to search for, to make just one more, to discover something new—that has kept me making art for so many years.
